30 Minute Meal – Homemade Fettuccini Alfredo

When you break down the words Fettuccini Alfredo, it literally means pasta covered in butter and cheese.   It’s not very friendly to your waist line, but it’s sure to please your taste buds!

Fettuccini Alfredo

Ingredients:

24 oz. dry fettuccini pasta

1 cup butter

3/4 pint heavy cream

1 dash garlic salt

3/4 cup grated Romano cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Salt and pepper to taste

 

Directions:

Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil.  Add fettuccini and cook for 8-10 minutes. Then drain.   Meanwhile in a large sauce pan, melt butter into cream over low heat.  Add salt, pepper and garlic salt.  Stir in both kinds of cheese over medium heat until melted.  This will thicken the sauce.   Add pasta to sauce and enjoy!   Optional ingredients to add into the dish are cooked chicken, shrimp or broccoli.
